Evidence handling
Keep evidence by reference and digest, respect what a record consents to publish, and never turn a past observation into a present claim.
You keep this evidence, in your own system, by reference and digest. Field provenance is live at the Resolver; ECZ-ID Receipts and LedgerCore anchors are not publicly retrievable.
Keep references, not payloads
- Store the ECZ-ID, the time you read the record, and the fields your decision actually used.
- Store receipt identifiers and digests, not receipt bodies, unless your retention policy requires the body.
- Never store parameters, prompts, request or response bodies, card data or secrets alongside ECZ-ID evidence. Core refuses to put them in a receipt; your logs should follow the same rule.
Respect publication consent
A record publishes only fields its holder consented to publish, and it says so in business_profile.publication_consent. Do not republish a field the record does not publish, and do not enrich a record with data from elsewhere and present the result as the record.
Label every observation with its time
An observation is true of the moment it was made. When you show ECZ-ID evidence to a person, show when it was read and link to the live record. When a machine relies on it, re-resolve.
